The Christian Education Team (CET) is excited to announce that Mark and Jan Cichowski will lead a five-week Midweek Class on Islam on Wednesday evenings, beginning February 1. The Cichowski’s have interacted with followers of the Islam faith in their missionary ventures in Africa and are happy to share their insights.
In addition, Julia Kellogg plans to begin a Precept Bible study on Sunday mornings, beginning January 8 from 9-10am. Precept Ministries International is a worldwide organization that produces inductive Bible studies – a method allowing scripture to interpret scripture. The 40-minute study will start with the topic, “The Essentials of Effective Prayer” and last six weeks. The hope is that the group would allow the Lord to lead them to choose the next topic and continue learning and inviting new people into the group.
Looking ahead to March, Jared Allen hopes to follow the studies of Dr. Mark Dever and Dr. Jonathan Leeman as they have analyzed the “Marks of a Healthy Church.” Later in 2017, Andrew Keresey plans to lead discussions on one of the gifts of the Spirit, speaking in tongues. More information will be coming.
The Christian Ed Team is constantly on the lookout for topics of interest and potential leaders of these classes for the FRC Family. If you or someone you know would be able to share or facilitate discussion of a topic of interest, the CET would be very excited to assist. Contact any of our team members: Joy Allen, Orson Christensen, Sally Christensen, Elizabeth Nienhuis, Lanae Nienhuis, John Rouw or Larry Vander Leest (chair) with your suggestions.
